We are excited to have Partners In Health join in marketing their causes on buya.org. Partners In Health, started by Paul Farmer works diligently to bring needed services to the most remote parts of Haiti and other parts of the world.

The PIH Vision: Whatever it takes
...
At its root, the PIH mission is both medical and moral. It is based on solidarity, rather than charity alone. When a person in Peru, or Siberia, or rural Haiti falls ill, PIH uses all of the means at it's disposal to make them well—from pressuring drug manufacturers, to lobbying policy makers, to providing medical care and social services. Whatever it takes. "Just as we would do if a member of our own family—or we ourselves—were ill." For more information about PIH and Paul Farmer read Tracy Kidder's book "Mountains Beyond Mountains".

William Mitchell College of Law supports Buya.org

Since our inception, William Mitchell College of Law has generously supported buya.org and our effort to help the poor, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged.

Being a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, it is extremely important for us to not only keep our costs to a minimum, but also to make certain that buya.org has trusted advisers that can help us implement the vision of our charity. Buya.org's mission is to connect people who have much and need little...to those who have little and need so much.

In 2006, Julie Finch of Law Offices of Julie L. Finch, PLLC and William Mitchell assisted buya.org with application for legal status as a Minnesota non-profit organization and application for 501(c)(3) status from the IRS along with other advisory services needed to launched the buya.org website.

At the time of this writing, Julie Finch and William Mitchell have again, committed their continued support to advise buya.org. We are so grateful for the generous and continued support and their willingness to support our efforts to serve the poor, the vulnerable and the disadvantaged.

"God be with you in your poverty"

A real life story...
Sue spent 8 years working as a chaperone with young people on spring break at a small school in the slums of Jamaica. This school like many in Kingston was very poor. The desks were in horrible shape, the black board broken. Even though this part of Kingston was one of the poorest areas in Jamaica, the teachers came in their very best clothes, pressed and well groomed and took great pride in their job teaching the children. It was such a contrast to their surroundings. When Sue was leaving for the last time, she thanked a teacher for what she was doing for the children and said, "God be with you in your poverty." With kind and gentle eyes the teacher replied, "God be with you in your abundance."

Question...
Do you live an abundant life that you can share with someone who lives in poverty?
